Roasting Day out to Machynlleth
It was a fabulous day out, but so hot that the tarmac was actually starting to melt and we could start to smell it. Riding out via Bala, where we have never seen so many people by, and in the lake. There was no chance to park in the normal car park, as it was blocked off due to the shear volume of people picnicking and paddle boarding, so we carried on and decided to ride the coast line to Tywyn and Aberdovey, before heading in to Machynlleth and home by-passing Lake Vyrnwy!
Stopping to refuel in Tywyn where the temperature on the dash was displaying 30 degrees; it rose to 32 degrees inland and we can't recall riding in that heat in Wales....

It sounds great to ride in such heat, but it actually isn't pleasant when your kit is sticking to you and there is no air, other than the wind you create from riding. The problem is, the air is very hot. It isn't the same as riding in the heat of Europe for some reason and I'm not moaning at all, but just recording it was uncomfortable at times.
Stopped at "Studio 13 Ice Cream Parlour" in Machynlleth and had a very refreshing and much needed ice cream and lemon Fanta, before heading back for a customary pint in the GL and onwards for bottle of Birthday Chateau Minuty bought by Toby.
Wing man couldn't join again as it's a Sunday and he has other less enjoyable chores to do. Anyway - here's to another lovely ride out!!
